Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds ground round
  • 1 fresh jalapeno pepper, chopped fine
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 yellow pepper, diced
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 1 yellow sweet onion, diced
  • 1 fresh habanero pepper
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans
  • 1 (15 ounce) can chili beans
  • 1 (15 ounce) can seasoned black beans
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 (10 ounce) can mild Rotel tomatoes & chilies
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 12 ounce bottle beer

How to Make

  • Step 1: Chop the peppers and onions and place in a large soup pot.

  • Step 2: Add the chili powder and spices, beans, tomato sauce tomato paste and the beer. Stir well and let rest.

  • Step 3: Brown the ground round in a large skillet - be sure to get a good browning on the meat as it adds so much more depth of flavor - and add to the soup pot. Stir well and simmer on low to medium heat for 1-3 hours.
