  • 2-3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 2-3 eggs (can use 4 eggs)
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 Fahrenheit and brush the insides of 12 muffin cups the the melted butter.

  • Step 2: Add eggs and milk to a medium-sized bowl and whisk together until well blended.

  • Step 3: Add the flour and salt; whisk until well blended (a few lumps in the batter are okay).

  • Step 4: Fill muffin cups about 1/2 to 2/3 full.

  • Step 5: Bake 25 minutes if using 2 eggs, 30 minutes if used 3 eggs, 35 minutes if using 4 eggs (don't open oven while popovers are baking).

  • Step 6: Remove popovers from muffin cups immediately and prick with a fork so that the steam can escape. Serve hot from the oven; plain, with butter, with jam or with honey.
