Step 1: Beat eggs until egg whites are blended with the yolks.
Step 2: Add sugar, salt and vanilla.
Step 3: Add milk and whipping cream, stirring constantly.
Step 4: Rub a few drops of cold water over pie crust to prevent soaking.
Step 5: Add filling and sprinkle with nutmeg.
Step 6: Bake in hot oven, 425 degrees Fahrenheit, for 15 minutes.
Step 7: Reduce heat to slow oven, 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes or until a silver knife comes out clean.
