Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 cups cooked diced chicken (or shredded)
  • 1 package (12 ounce) herb-seasoned chicken stuffing mix (NOT prepared)
  • 1/3 cup chopped celery
  • 1/3 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 3 large eggs (hard boiled, chopped)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can (10.75 ounce) condensed cream of mushroom soup (undiluted)
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups grated cheese (your choice)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Toss together stuffing mix, celery, onion and eggs in a mixing bowl.

  • Step 2: Mix together chicken broth, mushroom soup, milk and melter butter. Add enough of the liquid to moisten the stuffing mixture.

  • Step 3: Alternate layers of stuffing and chicken in a buttered 3 quart casserole dish or 9 x 11 inch oblong glass baking dish, starting and ending with the stuffing. Should be 3 layers of stuffing and 2 of chicken.

  • Step 4: Pour remaining broth mixture over casserole. Sprinkle the cheese on top.

  • Step 5: Cover with aluminum foil, seal around edges bake in preheated oven 350F. for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10-15 minutes until lightly browned.

  • Step 6: Remove from oven and let set for 15 minutes before serving.
