Step 1: In a sauce pan, add the diced tomatoes (with all of the juices from the can), garlic powder, the 1/2 of an onion, unsalted butter, oregano, and salt.
Step 2: Turn the heat to medium, partially cover with a lid and maintain a bare simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with pepper if you like while the sauce is simmering. Remove the onion before serving.
