  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 cups dry rice
  • 1 can (4 ounce) tomato sauce
  • 4 large chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, minced for garnish
  • 2 celery stalks (diced)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat olive oil. Add onion; fry until translucent. Add washed rice; stir 2 minutes.

  • Step 2: Add tomato sauce, tomatoes, celery, salt, dillweed, pepper and garlic powder.

  • Step 3: Add 3 1/2 cups water. After it comes to a boil. turn heat to simmer.

  • Step 4: Cover and cook until rice is tender; do not open lid for 30 minutes.
