Step 2: In a saucepan over medium heat whisk together 1/2 cup cream, 2 tablespoons sugar and milk; bring to a boil. Remove from heat.
Step 3: Stir in chocolate; whisk until smooth. Whisk in extract.
Step 4: Divide among 4 mugs; top with chilled cream and garnish with candy canes, if desired.
