Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 ounces chocolate, (sweet, broken in pieces)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/3 cups milk (scalded)
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (whipping cream, chilled)
  • 2 3/4 cups brewed coffee (freshly brewed)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a food processor combine the chocolate, sugar and cinnamon, chopping using on/off turns until mixture is fine.

  • Step 2: With machine still running pour hot milk and vanilla through the feed tube and blend until chocolate is melted (this takes seconds). ***can be prepared ahead to this point and refrigerated for up to 2 days, bringing back to room temp. before proceeding.

  • Step 3: With the food processor running pour cream through the feed tube, processing until thick.

  • Step 4: Reheat chocolate mixture in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently.

  • Step 5: Stir in coffee.

  • Step 6: Pour into cups, topping with whipped cream.
