Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter (room temperature)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecan nuts (halves)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Combine crust ingredients (flour - 1/3 cup sugar) in a small bowl of an electric mixer and beat on low until mixture resembles coarse meal (this can also be done in a food processor if desired)

  • Step 3: Press dough into the bottom of an 8 inch square pan. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until edges are light brown. Remove from oven but keep oven on at 375.

  • Step 4: In a small bowl of an electric mixer combine filling ingredients (2/3 cup sugar - salt) and beat for 1-2 minutes or until blended.

  • Step 5: Pour filling over crust and arrange pecan squares over the filling.

  • Step 6: Bake for 15-20 minutes or until filling is set.

  • Step 7: Cool completely before cutting into 1 1/2 inch bars.
