Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 24 large eggs (separated)
  • 2 pounds granulated sugar
  • 3 1/2 quarts milk
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1/2 gallon ice cream (eggnog)
  • Nutmeg, to taste
  • LIQUOR
  • Cognac (1/5)
  • 1 cup rum (Jamaican)
  • 1 cup rum (Puerta Rican)
  • 1 cup brandy (applejack brandy)
  • 1 cup brandy (peach or apricot brandy)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Separate eggs into 2 bowls. Beat yolks and sugar until creamy, add milk and cream til sugar is dissolved.

  • Step 2: Whip egg whites til stiff, adding sugar as needed (around 3 tablespoons).

  • Step 3: Pour first mixture over half of ice cream, then fold in egg whites, then spoon in remaining ice cream. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.

  • Step 4: Liquor can either be added to eggnog in a punchbowl, or preferably, combined in a separate pitcher so it can be added to individual servings as desired.
