Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 16 ounces pasta (shells)
  • 4 cups cheese (italian blend cheese)
  • 24 ounces cottage cheese (small curd cottage cheese)
  • 2 eggs (large)
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried sweet basil leaves
  • 1 teaspon cajun seasoning
  • 2 jars (28 ounce each) spaghetti sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

How to Make

  • Step 1: Prepare noodles according to package directions, undercook them slightly.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile brown hamburger with diced onion and bell pepper. When it is almost browned, add minced garlic and continue to brown. Drain grease.

  • Step 3: Add spaghetti sauce to meat mixture and add garlic powder, cajun seasoning. Simmer while you are doing the next step.

  • Step 4: Combine 2 1/2 cups Italian cheese blend, eggs, cottage cheese, basil and parsley. Mix well.

  • Step 5: Once pasta is done, drain well and add to the cheese mixture. Place cheese mixture into a large dish sprayed with vegetable oil spray.

  • Step 6: Pour the meat mixture over the top and stir. Cover tightly and bake for 1/2 hour at 375 degrees. Uncover and top with remaining Italian cheese.

  • Step 7: Bake uncovered for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and starting to brown a bit.
