Step 1: Heat water or melt butter in a small dessert bowl, ramekin or custard cup.
Step 2: Crack egg into bowl, poke it with a toothpick or fork to prevent it from exploding, and sprinkle with salt, pepper and optional Parmesan.
Step 3: Cover and microwave on medium for 45 to 75 seconds until desired doneness is achieved
Step 4: Let stand with cover on for 1 minute and enjoy.
