  • 6 baking potatoes, unpeeled or peeled
  • Cold water
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • Paprika, to taste
  • Salt, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 475 Fahrenheit.

  • Step 2: Cut potatoes in half lengthwise, cut each half into 4 pieces (or cut into traditional french fry shape).

  • Step 3: Soak in cold water for 30 minutes, drain and blot dry. (This removes some of the starch and helps prevent clumping. Skip this step if you prefer.)

  • Step 4: Place potato pieces into a large bowl, pour oil over potatoes and stir well to coat all pieces.

  • Step 5: Arrange on a baking tray in a single layer, sprinkle with paprika and bake for 20 minutes, turning after 12 minutes to brown the other side.

  • Step 6: Sprinkle with salt and enjoy.
