Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked pork, chopped (cold)
  • 2 green apples, peeled,cored & chopped
  • 8 small potatoes (new potato, cooked,cooled & chopped)
  • 1 small beet, cooked & chopped
  • 1 large egg (hard-boiled, finely chopped)
  • 1 gherkin pickle (chopped)
  • 1 small yellow onion (or scallion, chopped fine)
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 to 6 lettuce leaves (depending on leaf size)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • GARNISHES
  • 1 small tomato, peeled & sliced
  • 1 large egg (hard-boiled egg, thinly sliced)
  • 1 gherkin pickle (sliced)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a bowl, combine chopped pork, apples, potatoes, beets, egg, gherkin & onion.

  • Step 2: Mix together the oil, vinegar, salt and pepper to make dressing.

  • Step 3: Pour dressing over salad and toss to coat well.

  • Step 4: Line a flat serving dish with several lettuce leaves.

  • Step 5: Arrange the salad in a"boat" shape in lettuce.

  • Step 6: Cover the boat with a very thin layer of mayonnaise.

  • Step 7: Top with garnishes
