Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup oats (rolled oats, 80 grams)
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut (desiccated)
  • 1/2 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour (wholemeal self-rising)
  • 50 grams cocoa
  • 1/2 cup grams granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup currants
  • 1/4 cup peanuts

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 180 degree Celsius.

  • Step 2: Lightly oil baking (cookie sheet) tray.

  • Step 3: Combine rolled oats, coconut, both flours, cocoa, sugar and bicarbonate of soda in a large mixing bowl.

  • Step 4: Melt the margarine in a small saucepan and add to the dry ingredients, then add the water and then the currants and peanuts and stir so all is well combined and mixed through.

  • Step 5: Roll the mixture into balls the size of a 20 cent piece and place on the baking tray.

  • Step 6: Bake in oven for 15 minutes.
