Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 bread slices (I much prefer white)
  • Dollop vegemite, more if you are game (first timer smear lightly)
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon butter (or 1/2-1 teaspoon margarine)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Toast bread in the toaster. For the ultimate Vegemite experience, the toast must be hot.

  • Step 2: Smear butter onto the hot, toasted bread. Don't be shy now with the butter, in my opinion a good lather of butter is better! Butter will melt a little but that's fine, all the better for the Vegemite topping.

  • Step 3: Take a small dollop of Vegemite (or more) and smear it over the melted butter.

  • Step 4: Tuck into the Vegemite toast whilst hot!

  • Step 5: NOTE: For anyone feeling adventurous, a great Vegemite recipe is Vegemite toast with avocado and/or melted cheese. Once the toast is buttered with Vegemite, add slices of avocado, or dress it up with cheese (I use and prefer cheddar) place under the grill until the cheese melts and bubbles.
