Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • TACO MEAT
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons mild chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cilantro
  • FRYING
  • 12 corn tortillas
  • Vegetable oil, for frying (not olive oil)
  • ASSEMBLE
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, seeded and chopped
  • Taco sauce, not salsa (we like taco bell's)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream, optional (we don't use)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Brown meat and onion, add tomato paste and spices and simmer. Meanwhile, preheat oil on medium-high in small skillet or shallow saucepan, just big enough to fry tortillas. oil should be about 1/2" thick.

  • Step 2: When oil is hot, fry each tortilla quickly, both sides in less than a minute. Drain upside down on paper towels. Shells should still be fairly soft.

  • Step 3: Fill shells with meat, and serve hot with all the fixings.
