Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • FIRST
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 tablespoon kosher salt (less if regular)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (real)
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup Kahlua
  • SECOND
  • 1 pound pecan halves (about 4 cups)
  • THIRD
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt (less if regular)

How to Make

  • Step 1: First: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients except Kahlua and heat over medium-high heat to 260 degrees, using a candy thermometer, stirring frequently.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile, cover a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and grease lightly.

  • Step 3: Second: Stir in pecans and transfer to cookie sheet, spreading pecans out to a single layer. Use two cookie sheets if needed.

  • Step 4: Third: Bake 15 minutes, remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining salt.

  • Step 5: Let cool a few minutes, then separate pecans from foil and from each other. I do this by lifting up the edges of the foil and tossing the pecans so the salt gets evenly distributed.
