  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cups butter, softened
  • PECAN LAYER
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • CARAMEL LAYER
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • TOP LAYER
  • 1 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Recipe uses a 9 x 13 pyrex dish, do not grease.

  • Step 2: Blend crust with pastry cutter until fine crumbs. Pat into dish and sprinkle pecans over.

  • Step 3: Put caramel layer ingredients into a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook for one full minute at a full boil, stirring. Pour over the pecans.

  • Step 4: Bake for 20 minutes and remove from oven. Be careful not to overbake. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. When chips have melted, spread evenly over the crust.
