Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • Kosher salt (tiny pinch)
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 ounces crushed pineapple (in juice)
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip Frozen Whipped Topping
  • 5 large (2 pounds) apples (red apples, do not peel)
  • 2 cups peanuts (dry roasted)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine brown sugar, flour, salt, egg, pineapple and cider vinegar in a small saucepan. Heat over medium high heat until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from stove and cool in fridge.

  • Step 2: Combine sauce with Cool Whip in a large bowl. Core apples and chop into bite size pieces, smaller is better.

  • Step 3: Mix apples and peanuts into sauce. Serve chilled.
