  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 6 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Salt, pinch (tiny pinch)
  • 3/4 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Start about 10 minutes before your brownies or cake will come out of the oven.

  • Step 2: Heat butter, cocoa and buttermilk until boiling, stirring constantly. (Either stovetop or microwave)

  • Step 3: Pour hot mixture into mixing bowl and add powdered sugar, vanilla and salt. Beat until smooth.

  • Step 4: Pour over hot cake immediately after removing from oven.

  • Step 5: If using nuts, sprinkle over glaze immediately.
