Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 unbaked (9 inch) pie pastry (if you don't want the chance of the pie overflowing,use a deep dish pie crust)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup walnuts, chopped (or pecans)
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 ounces butter, melted (cooled slightly, 1/2 cup)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 or 2 tablespoons Bourbon (good quality Kentucky Bourbon, optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

  • Step 2: Layer the chocolate chips and walnuts in the pie crust.

  • Step 3: In a medium bowl mixing well,both sugars, eggs, flour, butter, vanilla, and Bourbon, if using.

  • Step 4: Pour over walnuts & chocolate chips.

  • Step 5: Bake for 40 to 50 minutes,or until set and lightly browned.

  • Step 6: If desired,serve slightly warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or sweetened whipped topping.
