Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 whole (4 pounds) chicken, cut up
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound kohlrabi, cut into strips
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • DUMPLING
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place a piece of butter or lard in saucepan. Add chicken that has been cut into pieces.

  • Step 2: Peel the kohlrabi, then cut into strips or dice, add to chicken, then salt and pepper to taste.

  • Step 3: Cover and stew over a moderate heat half hour before done add dumplings.

  • Step 4: For dumplings; (I`m not sure if you add water here or not ) beat eggs with milk, add salt and baking powder, then add enough dough to make a medium stiff dough.

  • Step 5: Divide this into 4 parts. Place over chicken and cover the kettle.

  • Step 6: When the dumplings are half done, turn them over, when they are done, them out

  • Step 7: Add a little hot water to liquid thicken with a little flour and water mixed together serve each the chicken kohlrabi and gravy separately.
