  • 1 box (1 pound) dried salt cod fish
  • 1 can (12 ounce) evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Soak cod overnight; drain.

  • Step 2: Boil in fresh water; drain; do this 4 times.

  • Step 3: After last drain, chop up fish, add 3 cups water and cook until fish is tender.

  • Step 4: Add water if needed

  • Step 5: Drain most water out

  • Step 6: Blend flour in canned milk.

  • Step 7: Add to fish and cook until thickened.

  • Step 8: Add butter and salt and pepper to taste.
