Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/4 cup lard
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 2 pounds beef stew meat (cubed)
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 pinch marjoram
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 garlic clove (crushed)
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 cups water or beef broth (approximate)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large stock pot with lid, fry onion in lard until golden brown. Add meat and cook until meat is browned.

  • Step 2: Add paprika, marjoram, salt, pepper and garlic and pour 1/2 cup water or broth and cover. Simmer until the meat is tender (about 1 hour) As water or broth evaporates add more into the pot

  • Step 3: When meat is done uncover and let all the water or broth evaporate, then sprinkle the flour and stir until the flour browns. Add 1 cup of water or broth and let simmer another 10-15 minutes longer.

  • Step 4: Serve over a bed of potatoes or rice or even noodles. All go well with this dish. Enjoy
