  • 1 package (8 ounce) dry macaroni pasta
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable shortening
  • 2 cups old cheddar cheese, shredded (divided)
  • 1/2 cup Cheese Whiz
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook macaroni according to package instructions, adding shortening to water. Do not overcook. Drain.

  • Step 2: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 3: Combine macaroni with all other ingredients using 1 cup of the cheddar cheese.

  • Step 4: Bake uncovered in ungreased 9x13-inch casserole for 25-30 minutes.

  • Step 5: Remove from oven and top with reserved 1 cup cheddar cheese. Return to oven only long enough for the cheese to melt.
