The ingredients are:
  • 4 tablespoons oil (olive oil)
  • 1 can (2 ounce) anchovies (packed in oil, undrained)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, minced
  • 1 can (4 1/4 ounce) chopped black olives, drained
  • 20 green olives, sliced
  • 2 teaspoons capers, drained
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can (16 ounce) tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 ounce) tomato paste
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup marsala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a medium saucepan combine olive oil and anchovies.

  • Step 2: Cook over medium heat, stirring to mash anchovies, 3 to 5 minutes.

  • Step 3: Add garlic and onion and cook until tender, 5 minutes or so.

  • Step 4: Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes.
