Step 1: Preheat oven to 375° F.
Step 2: Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and cloves. Set aside.
Step 3: Beat butter, sugar and eggs together until light and fluffy.
Step 4: Stir in flour mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Step 5: Fold in berries.
Step 6: Pour into greased muffin tins.
Step 7: Bake for 20-25 minutes.
Step 8: Combine sugar and orange rind.
Step 9: Dip tops of warm muffins in melted butter, then in sugar mixture.
