Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 pinch garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
  • 2 teaspoons yellow onions, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red peppers, chopped
  • 1 large egg (hard-boiled egg, chopped)
  • 2 cups oil (vegetable oil)
  • 2 teaspoons capers, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons green olives, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon green onion, chopped
  • SALAD
  • 3 cups romaine lettuce, torn
  • 3 cups bibb lettuce, torn
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 pound green string beans (blanched)
  • 1/2 pound salami, julienne
  • 3 slices cooked bacon (crumbled)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine sugar, salt, basil, oregano, dry mustard, pepper, garlic powder and red wine vinegar in a bottle; shake to combine.

  • Step 2: Add sweet pickle relish, onion, red pepper, egg, vegetable oil, capers and olives; shake again. Store in refrigerator.

  • Step 3: SALAD:. Combine romaine and bibb lettuce in a large salad bowl.

  • Step 4: Arrange 2 large tomatoes cut in wedges around salad bowl.

  • Step 5: Arrange sliced cucumber half way over tomatoes.

  • Step 6: Combine blanched green beans with salami in center of salad.

  • Step 7: Crumble bacon over salad.

  • Step 8: Pour enough dressing over salad to coat.
