  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Pinch of cayenne, or to taste
  • Coarse salt and black pepper to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Line a plate with paper towels and set near cook top.

  • Step 2: In a large heavy-bottomed pot, heat the oil over medium heat until oil reaches 350ยบ.

  • Step 3: Carefully add the pecans and cool until color deepens, 2-3 minutes.

  • Step 4: Using a slotted spoon, transfer to a large bowl.

  • Step 5: While nuts are still hot, add the butter and cayenne and stir to combine

  • Step 6: Season with salt & pepper, then transfer to prepared plate to drain.

  • Step 7: Make ahead: Once cooled, store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Bring to room temp before serving.
