Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3/4 pound Italian sausage (fully cooked)
  • 1/3 cup sweet onion, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons margarine (or butter)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded (divided)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F.

  • Step 2: Place margarine in a quiche dish or a deep dish pie plate, place in oven and let melt for about 3 to 5 minutes.

  • Step 3: While margarine is melting, lightly brown sausage, onion and green pepper for about 10 minutes or until onion and pepper is slightly soft, drain if needed.

  • Step 4: Beat together eggs, milk, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until light and slightly foamy.

  • Step 5: Then add in sausage mixture, and 3/4 cup of mozzarella cheese.

  • Step 6: Pour into dish, and top with remaining cheese.

  • Step 7: Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until center is puffy.

  • Step 8: Test for doneness with a toothpick inserted between the center and edge of pan.
