Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 drops Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (more to season ribs)
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 to 4 pounds beef short ribs

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine ketchup, brown sugar, onion, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco with 1/4 cup water, 1/2 teaspoon salt and garlic powder in saucepan. Simmer gently 10 minutes.

  • Step 2: Season ribs with salt and pepper. Arrange fat side down of ribs in shallow baking pan. Brush with about 1/2 cup of sauce.

  • Step 3: Place in hot oven, 400°F, to brown (about 35 to 40 minutes). Baste ribs with sauce 2 or 3 times during browning.

  • Step 4: When ribs are brown, brush with remaining sauce and add 1/4 cup water to the pan. Cover tightly - return to oven and bake until tender; about 1 hour.
