Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 sprig thyme
  • 4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt the butter in a large heavy-bottomed sauté pan over medium high heat. Add the thyme, apples and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, or until softened.

  • Step 2: Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and ginger and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 5 to 10 minutes. Add the lemon juice and stir to combine. Taste and adjust for seasoning with in salt and pepper.
