Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper (TO TASTE)
  • 2 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 pound dry fettuccine pasta (or spaghetti pasta)
  • 1/2 cup scallions, chopped (use green and white parts)
  • 1 package (3 ounce) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated (or Asiago cheese)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil in a large skillet. Add ground beef and cook, stirring with a fork, until meat is broken up, cook until meat is quite browned. Add garlic, salt, pepper and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook noodles and drain thoroughly.

  • Step 2: Preheat oven to 350°F.

  • Step 3: Combine scallions, cream cheese and sour cream. Put 1/3 of the noodles in the bottom of a large buttered casserole, spread with 1/3 of the sour cream mixture and cover with 1/3 of the meat sauce.

  • Step 4: Repeat layering until all ingredients are used. Sprinkle top of casserole with Parmesan cheese.

  • Step 5: Bake casserole 30 to 40 minutes, or until very hot and bubbly.

  • Step 6: Remove sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and return to oven for 10 minutes,
