Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 1/2 pounds boneless chicken breasts (cut into bite-size pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (olive oil)
  • 2 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce (or can add more)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Sriracha sauce (to taste)
  • Chopped green onions

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil in a large skillet.

  • Step 2: In a small cup or bowl whisk the soy sauce with corn starch until smooth; set aside.

  • Step 3: Add chicken cubes and cook until lightly browned. Remove chicken to a plate.

  • Step 4: Add remaining ingredients (including the soy sauce mixture, mix again before adding). Heat stirring constantly over medium heat until blended. Add in Sriracha sauce.

  • Step 5: Add in the cooked chicken and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 17-20 minutes uncovered until sauce it thickened (stirring occasionally).

  • Step 6: Serve over cooked rice. and garnish with green onions.
