Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 12 manicotti shells (cooked)
  • 8 bacon slices (chopped)
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 pound extra-lean ground beef
  • 1 package (8 ounce) neufchatel Cheese, softened
  • 1 package (10 ounce) frozen chopped spinach (thawed, squeezed dry)
  • 2 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded (divided, 2 cups for the top)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 jar (24 ounce) spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350ºF.

  • Step 2: Cook bacon in large skillet on medium heat 4 to 5 min or until crisp. Use slotted spoon to remove bacon from skillet, reserving drippings in skillet. Drain bacon on paper towels. Add onions and garlic to drippings; cook and stir 2 min. Add ground beef; cook and stir 6 to 7 min. or until no longer pink. Stir in bacon, neufchatel, spinach, mozzarella and herbs. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Step 3: Carefully fill the cooked manicotti shells with meat mixture. Pour 1 cup sauce into bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish; top with shells. Add water to spaghetti sauce jar. Cover with lid and shake jar, then pour over shells. Top with Parmesan and 2 cups mozzarella cheese. Cover with foil.

  • Step 4: Bake 45 minutes or until heated through, uncovering after 30 minutes.

  • Step 5: Allow to sit for 15 minutes before serving.
