Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 pork chops, center (cut 1/2 inch)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper (or to taste)
  • 4 tablespoons bacon fat
  • 1/2 cup sweet onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 can (10 3/4 ounce) Golden Mushroom Soup (original used Cream of Mushroom)
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 cup dry long grain rice

How to Make

  • Step 1: Season both sides of pork chops with your desired amount of seasoned salt and pepper.

  • Step 2: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 3: In a large oven proof skillet over medium heat,add bacon drippings then heat until hot but not smoking.

  • Step 4: Add seasoned chops and lightly brown both sides,when chops are done remove and keep warm.

  • Step 5: In the same skillet you cooked the chops in add onion,water,soup,and rice.

  • Step 6: Place the chops over the rice,season with more pepper if desired.

  • Step 7: Cover with lid and bake for 1 hour or until rice is done.(The rice will thicken upon standing.
