  • 1 1/2 cups water, warmed in microwave 35 seconds
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 18 ounces (by weight) all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Put water in breadmaker. Add sugar, then yeast. Wait 2 minutes for yeast to begin to soften. Add flour, butter, salt, in that order.

  • Step 2: On the Zojirushi I select Basic, Light Crust, Preheat OFF. Press start. The top crust will be barely browned when finished and might collapse just a little. Flours vary a lot so you may find you wish to increase the amount slightly next time.
