Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • CRUST
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • FILLING
  • Grated rind (from 3 large oranges)
  • 1 1/4 cups orange juice (the juice from the oranges will need to be strained, make sure you have that amount after straining)
  • 3 1/2 cups cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup sour cream (at room temperature)
  • 4 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 1 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Garnish
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds (toasted)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate, melted

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat the oven to 350 F. grease a 8-9 inch springform pan.

  • Step 2: Crust; Combine graham crumbs with butter and press evenly over the bottom of your pan. Bake for 10 minutes, set aside to cool.

  • Step 3: Filling; Turn down the oven to 275 F (140°).

  • Step 4: Strain 1 1/4 cups fresh orange juice through a strainer.

  • Step 5: In a bowl, place the cream cheese, sour cream and the sugar and mix well until creamy.

  • Step 6: In bowl of an electric mixer beat the eggs until frothy and add to the cheese batter. Add in grated rind and strained 1 1/4 cups orange juice and mix until incorporated.

  • Step 7: Pour the filling on the crust and spread evenly.

  • Step 8: Bake 1 hour 15 minutes or until center is almost set.

  • Step 9: Turn off the oven, leave the cake inside to cool.

  • Step 10: Once cooled place in the fridge overnight (24 hours).

  • Step 11: To serve, remove springform sides of pan. sprinkle with toasted almond slices and drizzle with melted chocolate.
