Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut in chunks)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons oil (olive oil)
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (or more to your taste)
  • 4 teaspoons cornstarch (dissolved in 6 tablespoons cold water)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 scallions, chopped (greens only)
  • 4 cups cooked white rice

How to Make

  • Step 1: Lightly season chicken with salt and pepper, and place into your crock pot.

  • Step 2: In a medium bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, onion, ketchup, oil, garlic and pepper flakes. Pour mixture over chicken. Cook on low for 4 hours.

  • Step 3: Remove chicken from crock pot into a bowl and cover foil to keep warm.

  • Step 4: Pour reserved sauce in a small saucepan and add cornstarch slurry. Stir to combine with sauce. Cook sauce on medium-high until it thickens slightly.

  • Step 5: Lightly toast sesame seeds in dry skillet just till you can smell them.

  • Step 6: Serve chicken over cooked rice and spoon some sauce on top. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped scallions.
