Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons oil (olive oil)
  • 2 cups onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 4 cups tomatoes, chopped (canned or fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed dried mint
  • Ground cayenne pepper or hot sauce
  • 2 pounds shrimp (uncooked, peeled)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large, deep skillet or dutch oven, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the onions, bell pepper, parsley - saute until the onions are clear.

  • Step 2: Stir in the wine, tomatoes, garlic, Worcestershire, tomato sauce, mint, red pepper and salt. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring often.

  • Step 3: Add the shrimp and simmer for 30 more minutes, stirring often.

  • Step 4: Serve over white rice.
