Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Hot red pepper flakes, to taste
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast (3-4 breasts, cut into 1 inch pieces)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (your favorite)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 4 ounces Parmesan cheese (shredded)
  • 1 package (5 ounce) croutons (crushed, garlic croutons)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 2: Pour olive oil into a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  • Step 3: Crush garlic and add into baking dish. Mix garlic in, and evenly spread on the bottom of the pan.

  • Step 4: Sprinkle with hot pepper flakes.

  • Step 5: Place cut up chicken into the dish.

  • Step 6: Pour marinara sauce evenly over chicken, and top with chopped basil.

  • Step 7: Layer with half the Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. (You can also add a sprinkling of dry Italian seasoning to both cheese layers).

  • Step 8: Top with crushed croutons (I crush them in the bag with a rolling pin first).

  • Step 9: Top with remaining cheeses.

  • Step 10: Bake uncovered, for 30-40 minutes. You want to make sure chicken is done, so if the top starts to brown a little too much, cover with foil.
