Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 2: Saute onions in 1/4 cup butter until translucent.
Step 3: Sift dry ingredients together into mixing bowl.
Step 4: Stir in onions and nuts to coat.
Step 5: Beat the egg, milk and remaining butter. Add to the flour mixture and stir until mixed. Batter will be slightly lumpy.
Step 6: Spoon into loaf pan and bake 1 hour, or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Step 7: Turn out onto wire rack and cool before serving.
