  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon oil (canola oil)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice (or ground cloves)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons almonds, sliced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat a 9" x 5" loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Step 2: In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the almonds and beat until well blended.

  • Step 3: Pour the batter into the loaf pan and sprinkle with the almonds.

  • Step 4: Bake for 45 to 55 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • Step 5: Allow to cool for 10 minutes then remove from pan to wire rack to cool completely.
