The ingredients are:
  • 8 ounces dry whole wheat pasta (cooked and drained)
  • 1/4 cup Smart Balance (butter)
  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon fresh garlic, minced
  • Fat-free half and half (2 cups, or regular half-and-half. Cream optional.)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, minced
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large pan, add butter, shrimp, and garlic. Cook till shrimp is cooked and set aside.

  • Step 2: Add half and half or cream.

  • Step 3: Bring sauce to boil and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 4: Add shrimp, basil, cheese, and red pepper flakes.

  • Step 5: Pour sauce over pasta and toss well.

  • Step 6: Serve immediately.
