Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • Hot water (1 few drops hot water)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, finely minced
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 6 slices bread (good crusty bread)
  • 3 tablespoons oil (olive oil 45 ml)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a small bowl, beat the eggs with a few drops of very hot water.

  • Step 2: Add the minced garlic, salt, pepper and mix well.

  • Step 3: Heat oil in a frying pan.

  • Step 4: Dip a bread slice in the egg mixture, covering both sides well. Fry the bread until golden brown on both sides. Set on a rack if you feel the need to drain, although these don't come out very greasy. Don't drain on paper towels or they will get soggy.

  • You may want to whisk the egg mixture between slices so that the garlic doesn't settle to the bottom.

  • IMPORTANT: its necessary for the oil to be very hot so that the eggs cook immediately upon contact. Be careful to turn bread before the garlic burns.
