Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 package (15 ounce) brownie mix (plus ingredients to make brownies)
  • 1 jar (16 ounce) maraschino cherries (undrained)
  • 1 package (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 ounce) frozen whipped topping, thawed (divided)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate baking chips (grated)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9" square baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Prepare brownie mixt according to package directions. Pour into prepared pan; bake according to package directions; cool completely.

  • Step 2: Drain juice from cherries to measure 1/4 C.; set aside. Reserve 12 cherries for garnish. Coarsely chop remaining cherries.

  • Step 3: In a seperate bowl, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add cherry juice; whisk until smooth. Add cherries; mix well. Gently fold in 1/2 the container of whipped topping. Spread mixture over cooled brownies. Refrigerate 30 minutes.

  • Step 4: To serve, cut into squares, top each square with a dollop of whipped topping and a cherry. Sprinkle with finely grated chocolate chip morsels.
