Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (14 crackers)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 3/4 cup dates, finely chopped
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375F. Grease or butter a 9 inch baking pan. Line pan with 2 sheets of foil, crisscrossed, leaving an overhang on each side of pan. Butter foil.

  • Step 2: Combine cracker crumbs, salt, and baking powder.

  • Step 3: Add dates and walnuts.

  • Step 4: Beat eggs well and gradually add sugar.

  • Step 5: Beat the egg mixture into the cracker mixture.

  • Step 6: Pour into prepared pan and bake 20-25 minutes.

  • Step 7: Lift out of pan using foil overhangs. Peel foil from bottom and cut bars into 6 rows lengthwise and crosswise.

  • Step 8: Toss in powdered sugar to dust them.
