  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 6 large fresh mint leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup wine (port wine)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Blend the water and the honey with the cardamom and place over medium-low heat. Bring to a simmer and cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

  • Step 2: Chop the mint leaves and add with the salt to the mixture. Simmer 2 minutes more. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.

  • Step 3: When ready to serve, add the port and mix well.

  • Step 4: If the sauce is too thick, add a little more wine and mix again.

  • Step 5: Pour into serving bowl and serve with sliced roast beef.
