Step 1: Place all ingredients except the BBQ sauce in a plastic bag with the ribs and let sit in the refrigerator overnight.
Step 2: Remove the ribs, reserve 1 cup of the liquid, and mix it with 1 1/2 cups of BBQ sauce; set aside.
Step 3: Place ribs on a baking sheet, bone side down, and bake in a 375-degree Fahrenheit oven for 25 minutes.
Step 4: Remove from the oven and place the ribs and sauce mixture into the crock pot, and mix well.
Step 5: Cook on low for 4 hours.
